GNOSTIC CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER
Gnostic Contemplative Prayer is a process of first becoming very relaxed and comfortable in a sitting or reclining position. We can use a form of progressive relaxation, autosuggestion, self-hypnosis, music or any other means of relaxation we choose.
Secondly, Gnostic Contemplative Prayer is a process of fixing the mind on one single thing and mentally examining all of the possibilities of that thing. During this second phase of Contemplative Prayer, we allow our minds to go wherever our minds want to go. We do not stop to evaluate anything. We do not judge. We do not criticize. We merely think of all the possibilities of the thing we're focusing on in our contemplation.
Thirdly, Gnostic Contemplative Prayer is a process of fixing our hearts on the Divine. This is not a thinking about the Divine approach. Rather it's all about accepting, forgiving and loving ourselves and everything in the creation and then humbly approaching the Divine with acceptance, forgiveness and love in our hearts. We acknowledge Divine Acceptance of us and ask for Divine Forgiveness and give thanks for Divine Unconditional Love of us and the whole creation.
